Brian K. Brennan

Brian Brennan is the Assistant University Archivist. He received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in History from Youngstown State in 1984 and 1988, respectively. In addition to his 25 years worth of combined library and archival experience, Brennan was an adjunct member of the Youngstown State history faculty from 1989 to 2007, teaching courses in United States and World Histories, as well as Western Civilization. He has also served on committees formed by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society. Brennan is a certified archivist and a member of the Academy of Certified Archivists. His primary duties involve office administration, document preservation, archival reference services, and records management. He also leads occasional tours of the Rose Melnick Medical Museum.

Cassandra Nespor 
Curator of the Melnick Medical Museum

Cassandra Nespor is the Curator of the Rose Melnick Medical Museum and the University Archives. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College (Carlisle, Pa.) and her Masters in Library and Information Science, with a concentration in Archival Studies, from the University of Pittsburgh. Her current duties include creating and maintaining exhibits for the University Archives and the Melnick Medical Museum, leading tours, developing programs to promote exhibits, and acquiring and cataloging objects for the Archives and Museum collections.

Lisa Marie Garofali
Assistant Archivist

Lisa Garofali holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Youngstown State University and is pursuing her Master of Arts in History at YSU. She has been employed at the Youngstown State University Archives and Special Collections since May 2007. She has attended several workshops at Kent State University and at OCLC in Columbus, Ohio. She processes physical collections and converts these into electronic format for the Digital.Maag repository website. She assists patrons with their questions and research, writes and revises finding aids, and has assisted with tours of the Archives and the Rose Melnick Medical Museum.
