The increasing demand for information literacy classes necessitates that the Instruction Room be available as
much as possible to provide flexibiity in scheduling and accommodating classes as well as other staff needs.
Occasionally we receive requests from non-library groups to reserve the room for training
or other purposes. The following policy will be followed:
- The instruction room is available for use from 8:00am until 10:00pm Monday-Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm on Friday,
9:00-5:00 on Saturday and 1:00pm-9:00pm on Sunday. See the library’s hours schedule for information about holidays,
break weeks, and summer hours.
- If a request comes from a campus department, such as for BANNER training, is a one-time request and not an
ongoing commitment, we will do our best to accommodate the request. (The library staff member who books the
reservation is responsible for entering the information into the portal calendar AND for making arrangements
for opening/closing the room.)
- • If a request comes from a faculty member for use of the room for class presentations which may involve
multiple class sections, is a one-time request and not an ongoing commitment, we will do our best to accommodate the
request. (The library staff member who books the reservation is responsible for entering the information on the
(the portal calendar AND for making arrangements for opening/closing the room.)
- The room will not be reserved on an ongoing basis, such as for a class that
meets once or twice a week.
- Requests received from non-campus groups will be considered on an individual basis.
- The Turning Point "clicker" system is reserved for library instruction only and
can not be used by faculty for their own classes.
