YSU in 1931

The Board of Governors of the Youngstown Institute of Technology voted to dismiss Homer Nearpass as the Institute’s director. Nearpass was replaced by Howard W. Jones, who had served as director of the YMCA’s educational activities. In further action, the Board decided to discontinue the Law School and to teach only business law as part of its business curriculum. On a celebratory note, Dr. Robert D. Bowden was awarded the John G. Agar Prize of $3,000 for his book, In Defense of Tomorrow.
