YSU in 1935
 

John McPhee was appointed the first athletic director at Youngstown College. Continuing in his capacity as basketball coach, McPhee resigned before the year was out to accept a job offer elsewhere. He was replaced as basketball coach by Ray Sweeney. Dr. Castle W. Foard, head of YoCo’s physics and mathematics department, was appointed athletic director. In academics, a comprehensive history course dealing with United States during the Taft Administration was offered and a secretarial school was opened.
