YSU in 1937
 

Catherine Berg Semens, an instructor with the English and Psychology Department, was appointed Youngstown College’s Dean of Women, replacing Eleanor B. North, who left YoCo to study abroad. Helen Johnson, a recent YoCo alumna (Class of 1936), was named Assistant Librarian. The Science Department purchased a new electric furnace at a cost of over $400, a chapter of Phi Theta Pi, a national business fraternity, was founded on the Youngstown College campus, and the Board of Governors approved the establishment of a football program.
