YSU in 1944
 

Youngstown College entered into negotiations with the Youngstown City School Board for the acquisition of the old Rayen School Building on Wick Avenue. The College hoped to use the structure to house its engineering school. Also, in anticipation of a major postwar influx of students, the College hired additional faculty and staff, appointed Edith McKissock as YoCo’s new dean of women, and established a program for the vocational training of war veterans.
