| Edward C. Franklin was appointed dean of the Rayen School of Engineering. Franklin Ellis had served as acting dean since the death of Louis Deesz in 1950. Beatrice Fried Newman joined the YoCo Art Department as a part-time member of the faculty. Newman’s paintings had been nationally exhibited just previous to her academic appointment. YoCo students raised money for the library and an annual $400 scholarship was established by the Youngstown Dunbrik Company, Inc. |
