- Reserve materials are those which faculty make available for a particular course and may include books, journal articles, and sample tests. The main reserve collection is at the Circulation Desk.
Another more specialized collection is located in the Multi-media Center and may include sound recordings or other media. Current periodicals make up the Serials Closed Reserve. Curriculum materials
placed on reserve are found in the Curriculum Resource Center, Beeghly Hall.
- Reserve materials are listed in MaagNet. You may search by course name or instructor's name to see a list of materials on reserve for a specific course. (Click on Course Reserves from the MaagNet menu, then either Reserves by Course Name or Reserves by Instructor). The Location section of a record in MaagNet
will tell you if a book is on reserve.
- Occasionally, an instructor will make available his or her own copy of a book or pamphlet which are shown as pers bk or pers pam. These items are returned to the instructor at the end of each
quarter, so it is usually a good idea to check the Reserves by Course Name or Reserves by Instructor to see
if the listing is current. You may consult the reserve notebook at the Circulation Desk (listing by professor's name for each class which has items on reserve) to verify reserve items.
- At the discretion of the instructor, items on reserve are designated as Closed Reserve (must be used in the library) or One-day,
Three-day or Seven-day Reserve which may be checked out of the library.
For additional information, see the Reserve Collection guide or contact a Circulation Staff member.
