Find   Books  

Books are an important aspect of the research process. Through Maag Library, access is available to books from different locations and in different formats, including books owned by Maag Library, books available through other OhioLINK institutions and books available electronically. Use the links to the left to learn more about locating books from these sources.

       Books at Maag Library

           To find books and other materials (magazine and journal subscriptions, videos, music, microforms and maps)
           owned by Maag Library, use MaagNet, Maag Library's online catalog.

           For help with searching MaagNet, see Tips for Searching MaagNet.

           Once you have located the item in the catalog, note the Call Number and Location then check the Building Guide to
           determine what floor the item is located on.

           Some materials owned by Maag Library may be stored at the
           Northeastern Ohio Cooperative Regional Depository.

       Finding Books through OhioLINK

           Students, faculty and staff of most colleges and universities in Ohio have access to the OhioLINK system. This
           system allows you to borrow books and other items such as videos, from other colleges and universities across the
           state at no additional cost to you.

           To find an item through OhioLINK, search the OhioLINK Central Catalog for the desired subject, title, author or
           keyword.

       Books in Other Libraries
           Other catalogs and databases allow you to find out what libraries worldwide have the books you need. Often, you
           can borrow a copy of the book through InterLibrary Loan. Use the catalogs and databases below to search for
           books in other libraries.

       Databases
  • WorldCat(OCLC)
    Use WorldCat to learn what libraries have copies of books, videos, music or journals, as well as other items. Remote access is available to current students faculty and staff through the Off-Campus Link.
  • RLG Union Catalog Use the Union Catalog of the Research Libraries Group to search for items held by specific libraries, museums and archives worldwide. Remote access is available to current students, faculty and staff through the Off-Campus Link

       NetLibrary and Safari Tech Books Online
  • NetLibrary
    NetLibrary provides access to full-text electronic books on a variety of academic subjects. The Full text of all books held by NetLibrary can be searched.
    Remote access is available to current students, faculty and staff through the Off-campus link.
  • Safari Tech Books Online Electronic books in computer science, information technology, and related fields from O'Reilly and Associates and Pearson Technology Associates.
    Remote access is available to current students, faculty and staff through the Off-campus link
Other Online Books
           A number of online books are available through OhioLINK and through Internet sites. Full-text resources in
           OhioLINK are listed on the Full Text Resources page
           Remote access is available through the off-campus link for each database.

Books available on the Internet
           Many books that are no longer covered by copyright restrictions are available online. Links to some of these sites
           are available below. To locate additional sites, search for etext using your favorite search engine.
