YSU Theses Successful completion of a number of programs at Youngstown State University requires the writing of a thesis. A copy of each completed thesis is kept in Maag Library. These include bachelors, masters, and doctoral level theses. Theses are included in MaagNet and are indexed by author, title, and school within YSU. You can also use a word search to find theses on a particular topic. For a list of all theses on file at the masters level, do a subject search using the term Theses Masters. A subject search using the term Theses Bachelors or Theses Doctoral will yield a list of the reports available at these particular levels. An author search using the name of the school may also be helpful. For example, entering Youngstown State University. Rayen School of Engineering will produce a list of all engineering theses. The results from this search can then be limited by date, or key word. Each thesis has an individual number. The example below shows the information from MaagNet that you will need to locate a thesis. Once you have found a thesis that you would like to see you will need to make arrangements to view document in the Archives Department. See the staff at the Circulation Desk.
After making an appointment to view the thesis, the theses must be used in the library. Each thesis is checked out for a three-hour period. A current valid YSU student, faculty, or staff identification card is required for viewing Closed Reserve materials. Additionally, theses are in the process of being digitized and will be available (full text) through the OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) site. You may search by keyword or browse by author or institution. (Electronic Theses are in PDF format. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view full text). Mahoning Valley Historical Resources To find books, government documents and other materials owned by Maag Library for local information, try a subject search in MaagNet, using the name of the place, for example:
