Several OhioLINK databases, like Academic Search Premier, Education Abstracts, or Humanities Abstracts,
provide some (but not all) full-text articles. In these databases, you may see links that say Attached
Full Text, HTML Full Text or PDF Full Text that link directly to an article.
There are, however, other options available in these and other databases to locate a copy of a
periodical article. While viewing search results in most OhioLINK databases, use the Find It!
feature (OLinks) to determine:
(1) whether the article is available online;
(2) if the periodical is available at Maag Library; or
(3) if the periodical is available at another OhioLINK institution.
Example 1:
Full text of the article is available online in an OhioLINK database. Click the link to get to the article (may involve several steps).
Example 2:
Full text of the article is not available online, but the journal in which it appears may be available in Maag.
Compare the holdings information (volumes owned by Maag) with the volume number in your citation.
(Click the link that says "View details in the Youngstown State University library catalog" for additional information).
Print out or write down the citation of the article and the call number and location of the periodical.
Look for the journal on the sixth floor of Maag Library. All periodicals are arranged on the shelves by the call number.
See Sample Holdings for help in
interpreting holdings information in MaagNet.
Example 3:
If not available online or at Maag, check to see if the item is available at other OhioLINK institutions.
If so, you may request a copy of the article through interlibrary loan (Requires an article request form. Service may take up to two weeks).
