 The Friends generate support for special
acquisitions, cultural events, furnishings, equipment, and library
education scholarships. Funds are raised through membership dues, special
events, gifts, and book sales.

Donated almost $20,000 of back files of The Youngstown
Vindicator (1920-1930) on microfilm. |
Sponsored Shenandoah Shakespeare Express performances,
providing free admission for YSU students and local
high school students. |
Donated window coverings for the Special Collections Room and
the new Bibliographic Instruction Room. |
Awarded eight scholarships for students pursuing careers in
librarianship. |
Donated a lighted display case currently in
use in the lobby. |
The Friends of Maag Library hosts a book sale during the Annual Summer Festival of the Arts on the YSU campus.
