To find books, government documents and other materials (not journal articles) owned by Maag Library for Education, search MaagNet the library's online public access catalog (OPAC). MaagNet is searchable by subject, keyword, author or title. If you have difficulty locating the correct subject heading, it may help to consult the Library of Congress Subject Headings, a set of large red books located behind the Reference Desk in the Reference Room. Materials relating to Education may be found in Maag Library or in the CRC (Curriculum Resource Center), Beeghly Hall. Useful information will also be found in the Government Documents collection which is shelved on the 6th floor of Maag Library. Items in the documents collection may be found by searching MaagNet or by searching the Government Documents CD-ROM Index which is located on the sixth floor. Access to the following databases is restricted to current students, faculty and staff or through the campus computer network.
Education Abstracts. An electronic version of the printed Education Index. Author, title and subject index to over 400 educational periodicals, yearbooks and book series since 1983.
ERIC (1966-present). Provides citations to and abstracts of journal articles from the CIJE (Current Index to Journals in Education) as well as unpublished reports, papers and other monographs from RIE (Resources in Education). The unpublished materials (denoted by accession numbers beginning with ED) are generally available on microfiche in the Microform Center, Lower Level.
ISI Citation Indexes. This is a database that includes the electronic version of three indexes: Social Sciences Citation Index (see above); Science Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index. Provides references to cited authors and articles as well as keyword searches.
PsycINFO (1967-present). (Or for historical references, search Historical PsycINFO, 1887-1966.) The electronic version of Psychological Abstracts, providing citations to and abstracts of journal articles, dissertations and book chapters on psychology and related fields since 1967.
Lexis-Nexis Universe. A full-text database of news-related articles.
Newsbank Newsfile Collection. An online database of newspaper articles from 1994 to present. Articles from earlier years may be found in the Microforms Center.
Social Issues Resources (SIRS Researcher). Includes full-text articles from newspapers, periodicals and government documents relating to social, scientific, historic, economic, and political issues.

section of the Maag Library home page for announcements of new electronic services.

independent, nonprofit corporation serving the research and information needs of the nation's school systems, their administrative staffs, school boards, and the public. Data collected is published
in various ERS reports which useful for day-to-day operations as well as in long-range planning. Titles range from salary and wage data to methods of assessing and grading student
achievement.
