Costume Index: A Subject Index to Plates and to Illustrated Text  Ref. Z 5691 .M75 
One volume, published in 1937, which indexes plates and "illustrated text" from over 615 books.  The 1957 supplement covers an additional 347 books.  Check MaagNet to determine if Maag owns the book you need.  A few periodicals such as National Geographic are also included.

Use the following sections of the Library of Congress Classes for Manners and Customs (GT), Commerce (HF), Manufactures and Handicrafts (TS and TT) to browse the shelves for books and periodicals.
