To find books, government documents and other materials (not journal articles) owned by Maag Library for International Relations/Comparative Government, search MaagNet  the library's online public access catalog  (OPAC). MaagNet is searchable by subject, keyword, author or title. If you have difficulty locating the correct subject heading, it may help to consult the Library of Congress Subject Headings, a set of large red books located behind the Reference Desk in the Reference Room. American Statistics Index  Indexes publications of the United States government.  Begin by searching a subject in the index volume which will refer to an abstract number in the abstracts volume.   References are to government documents that the library may or may not own.

Atlases

Several world atlases are located in Reference Room.  An up-to-date world atlas is usually included in the current edition of Facts on File (Ref. D 410 .F3), a weekly digest of world news.

PAIS International In Print  Previously published in two parts as Public Affairs Information Service Bulletin and PAIS Foreign Language Index. An international index to references in periodicals and documents on international public policy issues.

Electronic Resources

Lexis-Nexis Universe Good source for current information. Full-text articles from newspapers, periodicals and newswires (including foreign sources) as well as legal information.

A Matter of Fact  Factual and statistical information from periodical and government sources with web links.

OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center  (1995 to date). Full-text articles from major publishers. Browse by title of journal or category, or do a keyword search.

PAIS Database The online version of PAIS International.

Periodical Abstracts (1986 to date) A general database that includes references from popular and scholarly sources.  Some articles are full text.

Social Issues Researcher (SIRS)  Full-text articles from over 1200 publications including newspapers, magazines, journals and
government documents on a variety of issues. Includes graphics (maps, charts, diagrams, drawings).

Social Sciences Citation Index (1990 to date)  An index to scholarly articles in the Social Sciences.  Provides references to cited authors and articles as well as keyword searches.
