English 1539: Fundamentals of College Writing and 1540: Introduction to College Writing focus on college-level reading and interpretation as well as the fundamentals of drafting and revising college-level writing assignments. Assignments include responding to texts in ways that demonstrate expressive, analytical, and evaluative thinking.

Students may seek one-on-one assistance at the Writing Center by calling (330) 941-3055 to make an appointment with a tutor at a convenient time. The Writing Center has hours between Monday and Friday whenever classes are in session.

YSU students may receive additional assistance at the Reading and Study Skills Lab (330) 941-3099 and/or the Center for Student Progress (330) 941-3538. Both facilities offer students individualized assistance with a variety of subjects and study skills.
