Locating Books

Books can be found through MaagNet, the Maag Library online catalog or through the OhioLINK Catalog. Use MaagNet to locate items available through Maag Library. Use the OhioLINK catalog to locate items available through other OhioLINK institutions. These items can be requested and delivered to Maag Library for pickup.

Browsing for books
United States Business resources are located throughout the library: items in the Reference Room, Serials and in the circulating collection are all arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Once you locate a book or journal that is useful in one of these areas, you can locate information on the same or similar topics by locating the same call number in the other areas of the library. See Call Numbers and Floor Plans for assistance. Some of the call numbers where you will find United States Business information are:

Locating Articles

United States business articles are available in print and electronic sources. The information below will help you decide where to begin searching for articles.

Articles in print

United States business journals that Maag Library receives in print can be located by searching MaagNet. These journals are located on the sixth floor of Maag Library and are arranged in call number order.

Online Articles

Many United States business journals are now available through online subscription databases and through the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center. Various terms can be used to search these databases, including subject, keywords and relevant dates. Most databases allow access by current YSU faculty, students and staff from off campus, although a few are restricted to in-library use only. For more information about connecting from home, see

  • Business and Industry (1994-June 2006)
    Wide range of business information at an international level. Indexes over 900 trade publications. It is updated frequently and has a number of very useful limiting features, such as the ability to select specific industries.
  • Business Source Complete  OFF CAMPUS LINK
    Index, abstracts, and full text covering scholarly business journals on management, United States business, finance, accounting, international business and much more. Includes or has links to full text.
  • Mergent Online  OFF CAMPUS LINK
    Mergent Online provides business information, including financial reports, company news and securities data. Mergent includes SEC Filings for U.S. Companies. Use Mergent ONline to find company information when you know the name of the company, or locate companies within an industry when you know the SIC or NAICS code.
  • JSTOR  OFF CAMPUS LINK
    Supplies full text articles from the very first volume to the last 3-5 years for approximately 240 titles in the Arts & Sciences.
  • LexisNexis Academic   OFF CAMPUS LINK
    Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe provides access to a wide range of news, business, legal, medical and reference information from nearly 5,000 sources, most of them available in full text. The service covers newspapers, magazines, wire services, federal and state court opinions, federal and state statutes, federal regulations, and SEC filings. News information is updated daily and wire services several times daily.
  • Standard and Poor's Net Advantage   OFF CAMPUS LINK
    A comprehensive source of business and investment information, offering on-line access to popular Standard & Poor's research products.
