Locating Books

Books can be found through MaagNet, the Maag Library online catalog or through the OhioLINK Catalog. Use MaagNet to locate items available through Maag Library. Use the OhioLINK catalog to locate items available through other OhioLINK institutions. These items can be requested and delivered to Maag Library for pickup.

Browsing for books
Public relations resources are located throughout the library: items in the Reference Room, Serials and in the circulating collection are all arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification System. Once you locate a book or journal that is useful in one of these areas, you can locate information on the same or similar topics by locating the same call number in the other areas of the library. Locating Articles

Public relations articles are available in print and electronic sources. The information below will help you decide where to begin searching for articles.

Articles in print

Public relations journals that Maag Library receives in print can be located by searching MaagNet, browsing by call number or through the list of Marketingjournals received by Maag Library. These journals are located on the sixth floor of Maag Library and are arranged in call number order.

Online Articles

Many public relations journals are now available through online subscription databases and through the OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center. Various terms can be used to search these databases, including subject, keywords and relevant dates. Most databases allow access by current YSU faculty, students and staff from off campus, although a few are restricted to in-library use only.   • The Electronic Journal Center
    Browse the EJC in the commerce and finance or management and economics categories.
  • Business and Industry (1994-June 2006)
    B & I indexes more than 1,000 of the world's most authoritative business publications, including trade and business journals, industry newsletters, and a broad collection of regional, national and international newspapers. Full text is provided for many articles.
  • Business Source Complete  OFF CAMPUS LINK
    Business Source Premier indexes over 3,200 periodicals and contain full text for over 2,700 scholarly journals and business periodicals covering management, economics, finance, accounting, international business, etc.
  • Regional Business News    OFF CAMPUS LINK
    Regional Business News is a collection of full text newswires that incorporates new information from all over the world. Information provided by these sources covers business, political, economic and other diverse international news events. In order to maintain the most current collections of news , this database contains the most recent 30 days of information from each of these wire sources.
  • Communication & Mass Media Complete    OFF CAMPUS LINK
    CMMC offers cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for over 300 journals, and selected coverage of over 100 more to create a research and reference resource in the communication and mass media fields.
