Course reserves are a collection of textbooks and course-related materials that check out for a different loan period than the regular collection. They are available for checkout at the Maag Library Circulation Desk and at the Curriculum Resource Center (CRC) located in Beeghly Hall.
Most reserves checkout for 3 hours. At the discretion of the instructor, some materials may have longer loan periods of 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days.
Placing Materials on Reserve
Faculty may place course-related materials on Course Reserves by completing the Course Reserves Request Form . Maag Library reserves the right to decline requests that do not meet Fair Use guidelines (for details visit https://acrl.libguides.com/scholcomm/toolkit/fairuse). Materials borrowed through OhioLINK or Interlibrary Loan cannot be placed on reserve. Materials may be purchased if possible. It may take up 3 business days to process reserves requests.
If an introductory class has 50 students, Maag Library may purchase the textbook for checkout through Course Reserves. Maag Library may consider a textbook purchase outside these guidelines. A faculty member may donate a personal copy of a textbook for Course Reserves. If you have any questions, please call 330-941-3684.
